The History of Our Property

For over 100 years, our 26-acre property has hosted thriving vineyards. Initially planted with Concord grapes, it benefits from Lake Erie’s protection against frost and an extended fall growing season. Located in the Grand River Valley AVA, Harpersfield Winery established our vineyard with Vinifera grapes in 2004, being one of the area's first wineries to produce dry red and white wines. Now, the region is home to over 25 wineries, breweries, and distilleries.

We bought the property in 2015 to introduce luxury lodging, transforming the 10-acre vineyard and 16 acres of forested land.
